Profile

This educational corporation examines the process of high-rise building past, present and future, paying careful attention to the historical forces and individuals that have shaped city skylines. Expect drawings, photographs and models, plus Web projects and programs that document New York's architecture and famous skyline. Since its founding in 1996 by Carol Willis, an architecture historian and professor of urban studies at Columbia University, the Skyscraper Museum has had several homes, including a space at 110 Maiden Lane which had to close because of its proximity to the World Trade Center. In April 2004, it moved to Battery Park City, finding a permanent space in a 38-story mixed-use building that also houses the Ritz-Carlton.

Group Tours

$35 per group for guided tour; can accommodate groups of up to approximately 30. Tour fee is in addition to admission.

Special Events
The Museum offers a number of architectural programs and events, including free book talks held in its gallery. Call 212-968-1961 in advance for dates and times.
