Profile
Long before the advent of makeover television shows and Hollywood’s fascination with insta-long locks, MHN (More Hair Naturally) Hair Studio was transforming thinning heads of hair into flowing manes. Since the late sixties, the hair salon/medical clinic/wig designery has come to the aid of hair envious men and women with its enhancement techniques; it even landed a cameo on ABC’s Extreme Makeover for its extensions expertise. Rather than bulky, weaved tracks or clip-on plaits, MHN bonds strands of color-matched human hair to clients’ own strands with a special protein compound. But those seeking longer, fuller styles are only a fraction of the studio’s clientele: Men and women who’ve fallen prey to pattern baldness or are suffering from hormone-related hair thinning subscribe to a non-surgical method that bonds natural hair to a pseudo scalp, while chemotherapy patients have believable, natural wigs custom-created for a less permanent solution. Although surgical procedures (similar to skin grafts) aren’t offered, MHN can recommend outside physicians during the extensive consultation that precedes every service.
BridalThough MHN specializes in styling treatments for women with thinning hair, its line of natural, non-synthetic hair extensions are an option for any bride unwilling to risk the damaging effects of mainstream wedding styling ($1,500 to $3,500).
