Profile
At this colonial-themed restaurant and lounge (see name), waiters in tan shirts buttoned to the chin serve traditional Vietnamese standards—pho, fresh spring rolls, crispy rice crepes—as well as some fancier menu additions. The tender hanger steak salad is a good appetizer choice, but for the most part, the quality of the fare doesn't rise to the level of the price. The only kudos go to the decor: The tin ceilings, lazy swirling fans, decorative shutters, and leafy palm fronds do evoke the tropics of the expatriate. However, the weak food, unfortunate service, and loud yammerings of the predominantly Euro-trash crowd make you wish you could go back home.
