Profile
In Bittar’s second New York boutique, the Brooklyn-born jewelry designer displays one-of-a-kind editorial pieces alongside his signature Lucite and semiprecious stone-studded creations. The intimate 350-square-foot space is inspired by a famous scene in Hitchcock’s 1959 film North by Northwest, with delicate hand-painted cherry blossoms climbing across silk antique wallpaper and a color palette of grey and dusky rose. Bittar’s three lines are all on display, including hand-carved and -painted trinkets from the original Lucite collection; glam onyx and pyrite styles from Miss Havisham; and Art Noveau, seventies-evoking pieces from Elements. But the main attraction is the unique stylist- and celeb-commissioned baubles and bangles, created for the likes of Pat Field, Rachel Zoe, Madonna, Cameron Diaz, and Alicia Keys. The gold vermeil, Lucite, and sterling silver designs offer departures from Bittar’s mass-produced collections, incorporating stones like citrine, garnet, coral, rubies, diamonds, and grey pearls. The covetable pieces have been featured in the pages of fashion glossies like Harpers’ Bazaar, Vogue, and Vanity Fair—as well as on the wrists and necks of A-listers.
