Profile
Fans of baby’s breath, look elsewhere. Seven variations of orchid (from lady slippers to phalaenopsis) are this shop’s primary stock and trade. And since the shop buys directly from the owner’s sibling in Holland, Banchet has pretty much cornered the market on Black Magic vandas. That’s no small claim. As to the floral arrangements, the clean-and-simple approach is favored for bouquets of peonies, roses, irises, and tulips—often grouped monochromatically or with an experimental eye to color. The adjoining Flower Bar doubles as retail shop and event space. With the former in mind, you should take a look at the wide selection of vases: test tubes for simplicity’s sake or blown glass if you’re thinking extravagantly.
WeddingsThis shop buys directly from designer Banchet Jaigla’s sister in Holland. Contemporary and architectural, the designs emphasize the natural beauty of the flowers. Banchet uses organic, seasonal, and wild flowers whenever possible. Bouquets from $220 to $325; centerpieces from $250.
