This venue is closed.
Despite its location on the corner of Fifth Avenue, Fortunoff evokes the stores around the corner, in Manhattan's 47th Street jewelry district—it’s discount, baby, all the way. Fortunoff houses a veritable emporium of designer watches, diamond jewelry, fine china and formal silverware. Look for seasonal jewelry styles, classic tennis bracelets, a vast pearl selection, and hundreds of engagement rings—from simple classics to jewel-crusted modern takes—amidst the fine, antique and vintage pieces, plus an onsite jewelry repair center. Choose timepieces from Raymond Weil, TAG Heuer, Movado, Anne Klein and Diesel, or stop by the small nook devoted to men’s cuff links and notions. An ideal stop for those looking for a wedding gift, Fortunoff is replete with Waterford crystal, Lladró figurines and Nambé silverware, as well as a small collection of leather goods and other appropriate gifts for a recent high school or college grad. Although Fortunoff has such a huge selection that it produces its own mail order catalogue, its sales associates are relatively low-key; it's easy to wander and browse without feeling pressed.
Extra
Brides- and grooms-to-be can register for choice wedding swag; add baby’s name, too, once additions are expected.
Although none of the jewelry ever goes on sale, check back often for departmental sales of silver and tableware.
Key Departments
Wedding RingsAn unpretentious alternative to some of the grand jewelry houses along Fifth Avenue, Fortunoff has a huge assortment of engagement rings, from solitaire diamonds ($350) to elaborate, cushion-cut diamonds (from $10,000).
Cuff LinksSome of the best stuff at this behemoth is for men. We like the sleek, stylish cuff links in silver ($40–$325), gold ($225–$495), or gold with diamonds ($495–$1,350). It’s also a great place to browse for high-end European watches—Concord (the Saratoga starts at $1,890), TAG Heuer, and others. The selection of timepieces takes up an entire floor of the shop.
Men's WatchesThis jewelry-and-silver emporium is a great place to browse for high-end European watches—Movado, Concord, TAG Heuer, and other top makers. The selection of timepieces is so massive, it takes up an entire floor of the shop.
RegistryThe third floor of this large store has more than 150 tableware patterns from vendors like Waterford and Rosenthal. There are also loads of silverware sets from makers like Reed & Barton. Registered couples get a discount on the store's wedding bands.
