This two-boutique affair began in the 1970s as a pint-sized Columbus Avenue gift shop where FIT alum Helena Stuart sold heart-themed items like frames, lockets, and corsets. Now the highlight is Stuart’s own line of slinky intimates, which she has dubbed “inner outerwear.” As the name implies, this is lingerie that can double as street wear--an embroidered corset that can be paired with a skirt, a lace overlay nightie that could double as a cocktail dress, a camisole that can be worn out for a night on the town. The Upper West Side store stocks fine designers such as Vera Wang and Cosabella, while the NoLiTa counterpart carries a larger daywear selection. — Caroline Callahan
