World
Center Park
- Sally Ann Bolhower Upper East Side, Manhattan
Clockwise from top, left:
Chapel for all religions. Large stained glass windows
and interior seating.
Sculpture of sphere (represents the world) with a
band of colorful mosaics. Each mosaic represents a lost life.
Walking bridge has benches built into curving wall
with mosaic design. The elevated bridge has mosaic on the
underside of the walkway, as well.
Pillars in the shape and design of WTC (slightly abstract
and stylized) support the walking-bridge.
The park would consist of an abundance of
pathways, benches and sculptures by artists from around the
world.
Plants, flowers and trees planted in very large boxes
above ground (with concrete bases), similar to the plaza at
Rockelfeller Center.
