New Orleans Bar

Catfish
1433 Bedford Ave., nr. Prospect Pl., Crown Heights; 347-305-3233
Po’boys, cheap beer, and a boatload of brown spirits are the lure at Crown Heights’ Nola-inspired Catfish, where the trio of owners (bartenders from Dumbo’s reBar) ditch Mardi Gras shtick for handsome wood, weathered tin, and brick walls lined with bottles of hot sauce; from there, Louisiana’s Crystal is splashed into the properly spicy Creole Bloody Mary ($8). While the Sazerac and Sidecar (both $10) are spot-on, the postcollegiate crowd mostly sticks to the selection of sixteen rotating craft drafts (Victory Swing Session, Dark Horse Blueberry Stout; $6 to $8). Honoring New Orleans’ day-drinking pastime, beers run two-for-one weekdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while a Rolling Rock can and bolt of Old Overholt are always $7.
