Hamptons and Long Island


Bedell Cellars

This recently-renovated vineyard is the perfect locale for a summer wedding. The bi-level, mahogany-wood pavilion holds up to 200 guests, and the adjacent loft and tasting room offer extra space for before and after the reception. A lush orchard dotted with wisteria caps off the well-manicured grounds. As a bonus, Bedell wines are some of the highest-rated on the island. Prices upon request.

Castello de Borghese Vineyards

Guests will feel at home in this vineyard’s main room, complete with grand piano and an au naturel stage, perfect for smaller ceremonies. Weather permitting, they’ll open the big barn doors and set up a tent out back for a seated dinner. Borghese requires that their wines be used. Venue rentals begin at $2,500, and couples can expect to pay $200 per person for the works-open bar (wine not included), hors d’ oeuvre, dinner, and dessert.

Chequit Inn

This Victorian inn on Shelter Island can accommodate weddings of up to 80 guests. Its restaurant is known for fresh produce and seafood; they also custom-bake wedding cakes on-site. Receptions or ceremonies can take place in the upstairs dining room, the lounge downstairs, or on the outdoor patio. Prices range from $150 to $185 per person.

Duck Walk Vineyards

Picturesque Duck Walk Vineyards in Southampton holds weddings in its Normandy château reproduction building and in an adjoining patio overlooking the vineyards. The tasting room with 50-foot bar and tented patio can accommodate a wedding with up to 130 guests. Prices range from $8,000 to $11,000.

East Hampton Point

Sailboats and yachts docked along the pier-and the harbor glittering beyond the windows-make this airy restaurant a perfect beachside spot. The seven suites and thirteen cottages can house the wedding party for the weekend. Prices start at $130 per person for catering.

Glen Cove Mansion

For those who just can’t trim down the guest list, this Georgian mansion, seated on 55 beautiful acres, may be the solution. Glen Cove can accommodate up to 1,000 guests for outdoor events (250 for indoor). Wedding suites and guest rooms are available for those who decide to spend the night. Catering starts from $150 per guest.

Hallockville Museum Farm and Folklife Center

This expansive eighteenth-century farm estate is a good bet for couples looking for a truly rustic setting for their wedding. The 1,500-square-foot Naugles Barn, built in 1928, is fully wired for modern events but retains a charming country feel. Outside, the farm’s 28 acres stretch as far as the eye can see. Rental fees start at $750; tent and photography fees are extra.

The Harbor Club at Tee T's Landing

The Commodore Room at this waterfront venue boasts expansive windows that overlook the Huntington Harbor. This venue also hosts "open-air" ceremonies and can comfortably accommodate 240 guests. The staff is attentive and can make recommendations on everything from D.J.’s to stationers

Indian Island Country Club

Located on a golf course overlooking the Peconic River, this club has many venue options. For intimate weddings or rehearsal dinners, the club’s main building, which holds 100 people, is a good option. For larger groups, couples should consider a tented wedding on the front lawn. Packages range from $55 to $90 per guest.

The Maidstone Arms Inn

One of the oldest buildings in East Hampton, the Maidstone hosts weddings (100 guests) in any of its three ground-floor rooms or its garden with tabled umbrellas and small tents. Guests can stay in any of the hotel’s sixteen rooms ($170 to $550) or three cottages ($355 to $650), and can take advantage of the inn’s beach permits.
