Susan Rae

Using her experience from film school (and her fifteen years of shooting), this photographer likes to take a storytelling approach to weddings, while remaining unobtrusive-the majority of her images are candid. This former fashion photographer has flown all over the world shooting weddings for her clients, many of whom have become lifelong friends. In her photojournalism-meets-fine-arts style, she pays attention to the subtlest details-place cards, menus-that make each wedding special. She specializes in handmade albums or leather-bound books. Teri Bloom Photography Inc.

An experienced award-winning photojournalist, Bloom has documented hundreds of weddings in her career and excels at capturing spontaneous moments of movement, laughter, or surprise. Prices start at $3,750.

Timothy K. Lee

With more than fifteen years of experience in wedding photography, Lee has mastered the art of capturing the day in a style influenced by fine art and photographic-essay formats. Lee captures weddings in their entirety, depicting the couple’s intimacy during the ceremony and the ambience of the party, as well as the enjoyment of family and friends. Rates for the full day start at $6,000.

Todd France Weddings

Todd France has perfected a photojournalistic style during his fifteen years of shooting weddings. A contract with France (starting at $4,000) is good for eight hours of work by himself plus an assistant photographer. He will create a proof album of the best photos, providing a helpful starting point for designing a more formal album. The proofs are also available to view on a password-encrypted website, and he provides a DVD with high-resolution copies of all photos.

Blachére’s focus on the tiny revealing moments that make the day special-from the table settings to intimate scenes with friends-gives her photos unusual emotional impact. She travels worldwide on assignment. From $6,500.

Cyndy Warwick and Sheila Brown have garnered international acclaim for their fusion of a documentary sensibility and a flair for fashion. Zia O'Hara Photography

O’Hara’s wedding photography utilizes the same artsy, photojournalistic style she’s used while shooting for several magazines-Martha Stewart Weddings among them. She also takes traditional portraits as well as artistic stills of wedding-day details like the flowers and cake. From $5,500.

Zieff Photography

RISD grad Karen Zieff describes her approach to shooting weddings as "cinematic" and distinguishes herself from other photographers through the emotion and sincerity of her shots. She offers both film and digital, even using a few antique cameras, which produce beautifully unique images. Prices start at $5,000.
