Best Shave and a Haircut

Esquires of Wall Street
14 Wall St., nr. Nassau St. 212-349-5064
Whether you work in the canyons of power or are just tired of the in-and-out cheap barbershop, this classic delivers on atmosphere as well as the haircut part. There are marble walls, wide leather chairs, and piano concertos as background music. In half an hour you can get a haircut, manicure, and shoe shine simultaneously. There’s a traditional hot-towel shave ($15), which uses Truefitt & Hill oils. Co-owner and barber Niall Costello, an Irish gentleman fond of bow ties, likes to enhance the customer experience with a complimentary splash of fragrant Lagavulin Scotch. Cuts go for $22, manicures for $12, and shoe shines for $3.
