Say you’ve inherited a closetful of James Bond–worthy suits that just don’t fit you, or you’ve happened into a sample-sale slam-dunk that’s a size too big. This is a job for Louis Purple’s 360 Suit Redo, a service the Nolita shop started after a series of requests it received upon opening. Owner Charles Brunold and tailor Antonio Demarco assess the suit (and the client’s job, body type, and overall look), then decide which precise detail or alteration is needed to flatter. The overhaul usually includes substantial work on the jacket (tightening shoulders, adjusting sleeve and jacket length, tapering) and refitting the trousers (slimming down the legs, refitting the waist or inseam). The duo can take a suit down by two full sizes, or up by a full size, in eight to ten days. Per the name, the full service costs $360. (Louis Purple also does à la carte alterations, like tapering or shortening a jacket for $80.) Call ahead for an appointment, especially this time of year: The winter sale season tends to bring in a surge of customers.
