461 Court St., nr. Luquer St., Carroll Gardens; 347-227-8227
Even in the era of iTunes and Spotify, this one-room Carroll Gardens store has resurrected the neighborhood-record-shop ideal. Co-owner Jeff Ogiba updates his bins of rare vinyl daily with mint-condition Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk as well as current acts like Wilco and Beirut. There’s also a mini-museum’s worth of eccentric antiques for sale (old railroad signs, a stuffed baboon), plus a small coffee bar. Of the dozens of vinyl fetishist destinations in the city, none is more magically transporting than this one.
