Best Secondhand Shop

  • Pony

69 Fifth Ave., nr. St. Marks Pl., Park Slope; 718-622-7669

A refreshing contrast to the packed racks and messy piles at many thrift shops, the meticulously arranged resale shop almost makes you feel like you’re buying new. Clothing—all of which is laundered and steamed before it hits the racks—is grouped by color and helpfully tagged with the brand, the fabric, and a short description alongside the price. Though pristine vintage pieces are interspersed, the bulk of the inventory is current, stylish clothing: Like-new merchandise by Club Monaco–level chains typically goes for under $50, while A.P.C. cords and Marc Jacobs jeans are about $50, and dresses by Tracy Reese or Rag & Bone might be tagged at about $75.
