The first East Coast outpost of the Seattle-based hipster hotel brand, the Ace (from $189; 20 W. 29th St., at Broadway; 212-679-2222) should be crawling with indie bands by the time it opens in April. The Roman and Williams–designed rooms feel like very cool apartments, some with a full-size Smeg refrigerator, record player, and guitar resting in the corner (extra strings are available at the front desk). A Ken Friedman restaurant and Stumptown café are on the way.
