No one does sleek, moody modernism quite like Jason Pomeranc and Stephen Brandman’s Thompson Hotels. Their latest downtown meet-up spot, Thompson LES (from $375; 190 Allen St., nr. Houston St.; 212-460-5300), is heavy on the dark wood and leather, from the clublike lobby all the way up to the double-height penthouse. The highlight is the outdoor swimming pool with Andy Warhol’s self-portrait staring at you through the water.
