Profile
As the nation's largest metropolitan wildlife preserve, this world famous zoo boasts more than 6,000 animals across 600 species on its sprawling 265 acres of land—much of which has been transformed into unique habitats for zebras and other unique creatures. The Congo Gorilla Forest is particularly noteworthy: Home to two troops of Western lowland primates. Other highlights include daily sea lion feedings and bee-eating birds that catch their prey in mid-flight. Head to Tiger Mountain to check out the giant Siberians, or venture through the indoor, tropical Asian rainforest at Jungle World.
Butterfly GardenNearly one acre in size, the Butterfly Garden is home to a greenhouse, sculptured gardens, and over 1,000 butterflies with free rein.
Fees
Separate exhibit fees apply to the Congo Gorilla Forest, Jungle World, Children's Zoo, Zoo Shuttle (free for seniors), Butterfly Garden, Wild Asia Monorail, Bug Carousel, and Camel Rides, but included in the "Total Experience" ticket.
