Profile
The old lady bartenders who once kept East Chinatown's few remaining Bowery bums company are long gone, and their bar is now a neighborhood "nightclub." But the musty, brick-walled space still has that certain je ne sais quoi that screams "basement!", with the pool table providing a rec-room vibe. During weekend parties, a fresh, mixed crowd steams up the windows. When you need a break, take a seat on the bench in front of the bottom-feeder-friendly fish tank.
NoteYou can reach 169 Bar via text at 212-641-0357. Here, you can order drinks and food from a menu of po' boys, popcorn, dumplings, mac & cheese until 4 a.m.
