Profile

Sania Vucetaj honed her technique as a brow specialist at Bergdorf Goodman for more than a decade before setting out on her own in 2005. Though the entrance to her sunny third-floor studio is sandwiched between takeout lunch spots in midtown, the all-white space is chic and comfortable, outfitted with a single mirrored station, blond wooden flooring, and a white couch beneath a chandelier, where waiting clients flip through fashion magazines. Vucetaj shuns waxing in favor of gentle tweezing to avoid stretching the delicate skin around the eyes. Unlike blink-and-you’ll-miss-it wax jobs, Vucetaj is mindful of each hair, pausing frequently for the client’s input on the shape and thickness of the arch. She specializes in repairing over-tweezed or over-waxed brows, which often means starting from scratch and trusting her monthly regimen of shaping appointments. Her professionalism has earned her a following of beauty and fashion editors—whose glowing reviews line one wall of the studio—and well-heeled uptowners, some of whom consider her eye-opening handiwork a natural substitute for Botox.
