Profile
As its name suggests, The Moderne is stylish and modern, complete with Andy Warhol prints, aerodynamic-looking furniture, and silver accents. All that contemporary chic can leave the place feeling a little cold, plus bright colors and impeccable decoration don’t quite make up for the touch of claustrophobia in the smaller guest rooms. The staff is reasonably accommodating, if a bit snooty, and though the hotel features all of the standard amenities, there are certainly more luxurious places to stay for the price. Be sure to request a room that’s on one of the higher floors; some of the lower level rooms receive little light, aside from what's emanating from the space-age bedside lamp.
Pros
The décor, particularly the art, is unique and a nice change from standard hotel fare.
Cons
Room quality and size varies; many forego comfort for fashion.
