Before Thomas O'Brien became synonymous with a best-selling lifestyle brand, he was simply a sought-after interior designer with his own Soho studio. Evidence of both worlds is now on display at Aero, O'Brien's expanded design house, which opened in 2004. The 9,500-square-foot two-floor space is decorated to the hilt in his signature "warm modernist" aesthetic, and nearly everything here is for sale. You'll find mid-century modern antique pieces, some reupholstered with O'Brien's own textiles, along with his lighting, bathroom, and accessories designs. Favoring dark wood and light fabrics, the pieces here are fit a range of decorating styles, from Armani Casa-luxe to downtown bohemian. Smaller items include sparkling, vintage glassware.
