Profile

This venue is closed.

If the name Aloha Rag conjures images of tiki torches and hibiscus-laced shirts, think again. This stark, whitewashed boutique may have roots in the Island State (the original Rag was opened in Honolulu), but its look is pure sophistication. Men will find an abundance of preppy-casual pieces, from sweaters and many-hued polos to distressed sneakers and collegiate-style hoodies from brands like Obedient Sons, Rivy Ng, and 3.1 phillip lim. Rocker chicks will dig the shop's technicolor leopard-print ensembles and Hysteric Glamour graphic tees, while slightly more conservative women will gravitate towards the large collection of slinky black-and-white dresses. Finishing touches like oversized Kenji Ikeda quilted-leather purses, Linda Farrow Luxe sunglasses, and beaded bracelets dot the airy shop's shelves. Owner Tatsugo Yoda carries different designers from season to season, but Rag's Website always has an ample supply of iconic labels like John Galliano, Marc Jacobs, and Tom Ford.
