This boutique is co-owned by three performing-arts veterans—a singer-songwriter, an actress, and a modern dancer—but the wares are more subdued than dramatic. The colorful, wearable clothing from the house label, which is rolled out slowly each season, is sold next to a carefully edited selection of items from designers who specialize in handmade pieces with surprising details: Middewynter’s cultishly popular structured dresses wrap from back to front; Cinderloop’s softly swirling knits are punched up with crochet work and ribbon; and the silk-screened tees by Albert & Piccolo sport an octopus floating just above the hem. On weekends, the store is a local hangout for those who might otherwise be reading the shop’s blog. True to its name, the atmosphere is very girlie-girl (floral wallpaper, gilded antique furniture, French jazz on the playlist), but the boyfriends and husbands slouched on the antique divans don’t seem to mind whiling away the afternoon here either. — Lexi Dwyer
