Reed began as a place for Jeff Ng to sell his tee shirt line while his creative consultant business, Staple Design, was growing. One business fed the other and before long, Ng was collaborating with Staple clients like Nike, Uniqlo, and Dunderdon to design new products. Sneakers—neon, houndstooth, etc.—are only 20% of Reed Space’s inventory. The rest ranges from Addict and Maharishi streetwear to Hoon jewelry to magazines like Beautiful/Decay and Streetwear Today to the obligatory eclectic music collection of soul, hip-hop, jazz, and R&B.
