And if you don't cook at home, the down-home cooking here offers a nice substitute—especially if you like chicken. You can order chicken ($6.95) roasted, fried, grilled and skinless, on a pasta, in a salad, or in a pot pie. You can also get it in "Grandma's Restorative Chicken Noodle" soup ($3.25), though not, presumably, in the gazpacho. Some juicy, non-chicken meat also graces the menu, in the form of meatloaf ($7.95), thick burgers ($5.50 with fries), and even braised beef. Vegetarians will have to stick with sides, but with mashed potatoes, mac-n-cheese ($3.75), and the aptly-named garlic-flavored "Perfectly Wilted Spinach" ($3.75) on hand, they won't go hungry. Fresh flatbread binds together traditional ingredients like mozzarella, red peppers, and pesto (Moe and Tom wrap, $6.45) or less traditional ingredients like ginger-garlic marinated chicken, cumin-lemon chick-pea salad (Bombay Bird, $6.95). Vegetarian or meaty, hot or cold, low-fat or not, a wrap makes a neat picnic meal, especially since you can get it delivered straight to Central Park. And add a fruit smoothie to your order ($3.50 16 oz., $4.50 24 oz.)! You don't have to settle for a Bomb Pop from the hot dog cart.
