Bermuda:
Mid Ocean and More.
Perfect golf resorts to tee it up.
From the March 24, 2003 Issue of New York
Bermuda’s golf appeal can be summed
up in one statistic: It has the most golf courses per square mile
of any nation on earth. The crown jewel is the Mid Ocean Club, an
epic layout crafted in 1921 by Charles Blair MacDonald. Adjacent to
Mid Ocean is the new Tucker’s Point Club, which is pure eye
candy, surrounded by gleaming ocean on three sides. The Robert Trent
Jones Sr.–designed Port Royal sits high in the hills overlooking
the sea; Riddells Bay and the Belmont Golf Club (closed for renovations
until late 2003) round out the top offerings. The best resorts are
the full-service Southampton Princess, with an expansive beach club,
and Elbow Beach, a smaller and more exclusive property with a great
spa, where you can rest up for more golf. Larry Olmstead and
