‘I want a Nebula Cookie,” says a 5-year-old future astronaut, whose kindergarten curriculum on space brought him and his class to the museum. While he munched on the intergalactic shortbread treat at the museum’s year-old Food Court, his teacher grabbed a Supernova Bagel. We tried the Moon Rocks (a.k.a. Rice Krispie treats) and a tortilla wrap, in that order. Despite the confused eating pattern, the spacious Food Court is a giant, pristine stainless-steel cafeteria where nothing is confusing. And unlike its predecessors, the Ocean Life Café and Dinersaurus, the acoustics allow for adult conversation (although we do miss the big blue whale in the café). The Food Court also serves grown-up dishes: rotisserie chicken, burgers, brioche panini, focaccia, and espresso to help get you through all those hi-tech interplanetary exhibits.
