It’s heartening to know that there are still places in the city where you can find sweaty beat freaks dancing to techno at 2 a.m. on a Monday. The long-running “Tronic Treatment” party moved to this subterranean space a few months ago, and the party’s loyal fans followed suit. Don’t even think about showing up before one o’clock. It’s not until then that the cozy space fills up with revelers ready to dance to the soundtrack created by stellar techno D.J.’s like Ritchie Hawtin and Marco Corolla. Weekends bring a groovier mix of local and international house D.J.’s and a hyper crowd to match. The mayor’s office can outlaw a lot of things, but luckily—and it’s not for lack of trying—they haven’t figured out a way to ban dancing. It’s just a little harder to find these days.
