Sure, you’ve collected your share of duffels and totes over the years, but when you’re embarking on a trip that involves, say, business-class lounges and five-star hotels, you’ll probably want to trade up. T.Anthony, a 57-year-old outfit, sells beautiful classic suitcases in a choice of unisex solids and tweeds. Choose from old-school (heavy and hard-sided) or practical (with retractable handles and wheels)—all come in a full range of sizes and have coordinating garment bags, duffels, even hatboxes. Suitcases are $550 and up, so it’s unlikely that you’ll be buying a complete set in one swoop. But think of them like fine china: highly collectible. And since a bunch of styles have been around since the forties (the red suitcases were created for Marilyn Monroe), chances are they aren’t going away anytime soon—unless, of course, you take them with you.
