Cabaret at Café Sabarsky
On selected Friday evenings, the Neue Galerie will be presenting an excellent roster of cabaret stars at the museum's own Café Sabarsky, which will provide a special prix-fixe dinner. Ute Lemper's April 5 opening-night show is already sold out, but the coming weeks' talent includes Sanda Weigl and Theo Bleckmann. (For info, call 628-6200, extension 410.)

Ask Gael
What do the food couturiers have for us now?
We passionate foodistes do make a fuss about what we eat. In this case, Bill Devin, a New Jersey expat happily transplanted to Tarragona, an ancient city south of Barcelona, is waxing poetic about his luscious Moscatel wine vinegar (I'm sold, finding it amazingly smooth and not too sweet). "I was sick of balsamic this and balsamic that," he says. So he challenged university oenologists to create a sweet wine vinegar for Unió, whose elegant olive oil he was already shipping to New York, along with hand-filleted skin-on anchovies and Cal Valls' fire-roasted piquillo peppers. Thrilled to learn we share an addiction to tuna, Devin warns that silken bonito belly tinned by Ortiz will spoil me forever. Indeed, the lush ventresca is as wickedly rich as foie gras, not that I don't appreciate the more sedate line-caught albacore the company packs into jars. "Lay a few of those artisanal anchovy fillets on top," Devin urges. Available east and west, at Fairway (2127 Broadway at 74 Street, 212-595-1888),Citarella (2135 Broadway at West 75th Street, 212-874-0383), Ideal Cheese (942 First Ave at 52nd Street, 800-382-0109) and Pisacane Midtown (940 First Avenue, 212-752-7560 )
