Memorial Services
More than 9,000 mourners showed up at the site of the World Trade Center October 28 to pay tribute to the victims of the September 11 disaster. The service was without political speeches; instead, visitors heard performances by opera singers Renee Fleming and Andrea Bocelli, and comments from religious leaders, including Cardinal Edward Egan and Imam Izak-El Mu'eed Pasha, the NYPD Muslim chaplain. |
