The
Eternal Flame
- Robert So Nutley, New Jersey
My vision is for one large building with four wings of equal
size to honor those that died; those that served; those that
survived; and those that will forever mourn.
The building will reflect New York City in its dark glass
facade and will integrate the old as well as the modern aspects
of architectural design.
The main entrance lobby (pictured, bottom) should have a
peaceful feeling of entering into a sacred place enhanced
by interior fountains and soaring open spaces.
Highlighted will be stained glass windows visually depicting
the heroic deeds associated with the attack, which will be
chosen from the myriad of pictures that recorded the event.
The top of the building will carry an eternal flame and house
an interfaith church/memorial/meditation area, surrounded
by an observation deck.
