The Barn Complex At Queens County Farm Museum

Grazing livestock and a Dutch farmhouse set the scene on this 47-acre working farm. Weddings can be held in the reception room of the museum’s barn ($4,000 for four hours and up to 120 guests). For big parties (up to 1,000 guests), the apple orchard is available for rent ($4,000 for five hours). A pavilion space seats 85 and is ideal for wedding ceremonies ($1,000 for four hours). Brooklyn Botanic Garden

The 52-acre Brooklyn Botanic Garden has numerous sites for ceremonies, including the Magnolia Plaza and the Italian-style Osborne Garden. Patina Restaurant Group is the exclusive caterer for receptions in the Palm House, which holds up to 300 guests for cocktails and 275 for a seated dinner. Site fees range from $1,250 to $11,000, plus $175 to $280 per person. The total site fee and a percentage of the catering cost go toward the preservation of the garden. The Lillian and Amy Goldman Atrium, which looks out onto the Japanese Garden, can hold up to 150 for cocktails and 120 for a seated dinner. Prices upon request. (ecofriendly)

Brooklyn Grange

New York’s largest rooftop farm allows for the best of both worlds: views of midtown framed by tall stalks of sunflowers. Couples can stage their ceremony right among the rows of produce, or on the paved deck, which can seat up to 150 guests and is fitted with a canopy tent. Events season is late May through October. Prices start at $8,500.

Central Park

Central Park holds plenty of scenic possibilities for weddings. There’s always the option of a small flash-mob-style ceremony, but permits are required for parties with more than 20 guests. The Bethesda Terrace has a fountain and looks across Central Park Lake. Cherry Hill has a smaller fountain surrounded by cherry trees that bloom in the spring. The Conservatory Garden’s three plots, located at Fifth Avenue and 105th Street, are in bloom from early spring through late October; a permit for this spot costs $400, plus $100 for photography. The Garrison

A 19th-century country club is now a sprawling events space an hour north of Manhattan with vistas of the Hudson River and Catskills. Make a whole wedding weekend for up to 200 guests with multiple ballrooms, a ceremony garden, spa, farm, and 18-hole golf course, and stay with the bridal party in the four-room inn.

Monteverde At Old Stone

Situated on 27 acres with panoramic views of the Hudson River, this restored 18th-century mansion was built by Pierre Van Cortlandt on a land grant from King George. Ceremonies typically take place on the Grand Lawn, allowing brides to make their entrance descending the mansion’s stone staircase. For the reception, couples can choose to celebrate inside the mansion, which is outfitted with a private bridal lounge and terrace and a choice of three dining rooms, or outdoors in the grand Tented Pavilion, which accommodates up to 350 guests for seated dinners. Oheka Castle

This 115,000-square-foot, 1920s estate was famous long before Taylor Swift used the opulent grounds in a music video. After marrying beneath the pillared gazebo, take the party to the Olmsted Brothers–designed French gardens—obsessively groomed with curved topiaries and reflecting pools—before moving on to a tented dinner on the vast upper lawn. The chandeliered Terrace Room can hold 400 for dinner and dancing, or for smaller parties, the Grand Ballroom fits 200. All catering is handled in-house. Average wedding costs between $75,000 and $100,000.

The Otto Kahn and James Burden Mansions

These Upper East Side estates sit side by side on 91st Street, and each offers its own charming advantages. One popular option is to set the ceremony in the courtyard of the Renaissance-style Otto Kahn Mansion, which accommodates up to 100 guests and overlooks Central Park. The Beaux-Arts James Burden Mansion, meanwhile, features a banquet hall that holds 150 guests for a sit-down dinner. Other spaces include a music room at the Burden (up to 50 guests for a ceremony, 40 for dinner) and a theater at the Kahn (160 for a ceremony, 80 for dinner and dancing). Prices upon request.

The Picnic House in Prospect Park

The 4,000-square-foot Renaissance-revival structure features a wood-burning fireplace and elegant French doors leading out to a balcony that overlooks the Long Meadow. It hosts up to 175 for dinner and dancing. Tables, chairs, an upright piano, and security are included in the $3,500 to $5,500 fee—much of which goes back to the park for maintenance and preservation. Prospect Park Boathouse

Tranquil views of the Lullwater complement the elegant Beaux-Arts style of this landmark Brooklyn building, which can fit up to 150 guests for dinner and dancing. The Movable Feast handles the catering (from $160 per person). Boathouse rental from $3,500.

Swan Club

The sprawling green grounds offer multiple areas for celebrations as well as photo ops, with waterfalls, wildflower bushes, and ponds full of swans. Full-service catering is driven by chef Thomas Hendricks. Three indoor spaces can accommodate up to 300 guests.

Wave Hill

At this 28-acre estate in Riverdale, couples can exchange vows under a shaded walkway overlooking vistas of the New Jersey Palisades, then bring the party inside for dinner and dancing at the Wave Hill House. Catering company Great Performances oversees the cuisine, with produce sourced from their own organic farm upstate. From $10,000 for a tax-deductible contribution, plus a $3,500 weekend rental fee.
