Silent Barn, 915 Wyckoff Ave., nr. Hancock St., Ridgewood; no phone
Determined to prove that video-game fanatics aren’t all antisocial basement dwellers, a Queens collective has turned its passion for gaming into the CBGB of arcades. Set below the Ridgewood indie-music venue Silent Barn (yes, it’s a basement), Babycastles is a DIY arcade with games made from discarded furniture, repurposed P.C. controllers, and lots of duct tape. The game room is open during every Silent Barn show, and the playing is free.
