This bastion of minimalist cool is the missing link between the nearly extinct downtown dives of yore and the ascendant cocktail gentrifiers. Named for a Stooges song (a framed picture of Iggy silently judges you from behind the bar), it’s an unassuming spot to grab a pint from a selection of twelve taps or a whiskey from a wall of bottles. And while a top-notch tapas menu soaks up the booze, No Fun still has rock bona fides: If you stop by late, you might hear Andy Rourke of the Smiths D.J.-ing in the banquetted back room.
