Even in a small apartment, brewing beer is simple. Brewing great beer, however, demands skill and finesse. If you’re a novice brewmaster in need of hands-on instruction, the beginner’s class ($45) at this Gowanus shop for the hops-obsessed is a must. During the monthly two-hour lesson, pedigreed homebrewer Christian Lovrich walks a class of ten students through the entire brewing process, providing homebrew samples of three or more beers, as well as the tips and tactics required to go from grain to glass. The lesson ends with bottling a previously brewed beer, which students take home. Consider drinking it extra credit.
