Best Theater

  • Claire Tow Theater

    Lincoln Center, 150 W. 65th St., nr. Broadway; 212-362-7600

Lincoln Center Theater’s long-awaited third venue is a feat of both architecture and the performing arts. Housed in a slick glass structure built economically onto the roof of the Vivian Beaumont, the black-box stage specializes in quality theater for hoi polloi. Tickets are just $20, and plays are produced by LCT3, which showcases up-and-coming writers, directors, and designers. And wow, what a view: The theater’s expansive hardwood terrace overlooks the Hearst Plaza and its gorgeous Illumination Lawn, making it the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail during intermission.
