A six-foot-five-tall structure whose cantilevered architecture channels Frank Lloyd Wright, the Uffizi ($1,850) was conceived by Bed-Stuy parents Jenny Argie and Andrew Thornton as a sleek yet safe way to stack siblings. The sturdy, two-tone bunk is triconfigurable: You choose your colors (black, white, orange, birch), then construct as a bed-over-bed, bi-level L, or one-child loft with a desk cubby. Designed with the couple’s energetic two boys in mind, the bed withstands inevitable bouts of climbing, swinging, and jumping, and meets high environmental standards as well. (It’s made of sustainably sourced hardwood and minimally off-gassing ply, then finished with nontoxic stains.) According to Thornton—a Cooper Union–schooled architect—a mom or dad working alone can assemble it in less than an hour.
