Best Concert an Adult Can Stomach

  • Baby Got Bach

(Le) Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker St., at Thompson St.; 212-505-3474

Name aside, this class isn’t really for babies. Concert pianist Orli Shaham, who performs recitals and concertos around the world, caters her classical music to 3-to-6-year-olds—not to mention their high-culture-deprived parents. Her just-launched concert series, held at the usually grown-ups-only club (Le) Poisson Rouge, lets kids interact with the musicians and their instruments. They’re not just spectators but performers as well, assisting in playing a trill on the violin or helping to mute a French horn. The interactive portion is followed by a mini-concert by Shaham and anywhere from four to eight guest musicians. Pieces are rarely longer than four minutes. The next concert is April 3, with tickets running $10 for kids, $20 per adult, or $40 for a family of four.
