Interior designer Noa Santos and tech whiz Will Nathan pair clients and designers on a wallet-friendly hour-to-hour basis. A typical consult ($50 for a junior designer and $80 for a renovation-seasoned senior) begins with an online sign-up—clients provide floor plans, photos, and Pinterest mood boards. Then, the at-home meeting is bespoke: If fresh paint is the goal, the designer will come laden with swatches; if renovations are in store, senior designers have been known to quote material prices, suggest contractors, and even dash out some rough floor-plan sketches in that first hour.
