  • For the Hype Beast:

  • Been Trill

271 Canal St., nr. Lafayette St.; 212-343-1565

The stuff: Limited-edition graphic Been Trill tees (from $100) and snapback hats ($60).
The scene: Street-gear heads rolling through after work; Canal Street tourists stumbling in randomly and staying for the entrancing video wall, which generates on-the-spot GIFs of shoppers. The owners are a collective of DJs (and Yeezy collaborators), and shop clerks entertain customers with stories about almost meeting Kanye.

  • For the Williamsburg Cognoscenti:

  • The Kinfolk Store

    94 Wythe Ave., at N. 11th St.; 347-799-2946

The stuff: Nonchalant chambray oxfords ($210) and other in-house-designed menswear, vintage items like a Minox 35-mm. camera ($200).
The scene: The tirelessly cool, spilling over from the adjacent Kinfolk café and lounge, as well as from other nearby haunts like the Wythe Hotel. Expect big crowds on live-music nights starting at the end of March, when the ever-expanding multiuse space unveils a concert dome equipped for 250 people.

  • For the Outdoorsy Dandy:

  • Leisure Life NYC

559 Myrtle Ave., nr. Emerson Pl., Clinton Hill; 347-725-3167

The stuff: ’90s-style oversize flannels ($48) and military-inspired rucksacks made from Italian goatskin and bridle leather ($1,270).
The scene: Owner Charnier Corey’s fashion-world friends, like Joshua Kissi and Travis Gumbs of Street Etiquette, dancing alongside Pratt students to DJ Priceyall, who spins every Saturday and Sunday—complimentary beer and vodka included.

  • For the ’90s Worshipper:

  • Procell

5 Delancey St., nr. Bowery; 212-226-2315

The stuff: Rare Notorious B.I.G. tees ($628) and Public Enemy back patches ($68) collected by owner Brian Procell.
The scene: Downtown creatives like James Jebbia (owner of Supreme); occasional cameos by the likes of Cara Delevingne, Drake, and Katy Perry. Come summer, Procell will host parties both in the store and at his newly acquired office space around the corner.

  • For the Deep-Pocketed Club Kid:

  • VFiles

12 Mercer St., at Howard St.; 212-804-6400

The stuff: Colorblocked Hood by Air long-sleeve tees ($240) and androgynous Rad Hourani jersey tanks ($230).
The scene: Teenage crews from Soho, the Bronx, and beyond, who come after school to kick it with the style-icon shop clerks; Vogue editors. Official events and parties like last year’s Jeremy Scott x Cybex release and Erik Brunetti’s Fuct book launch will start again in the summer.
