Best Women’s Basics

Pookie and Louisa Burch’s collegiate line is built around signature pieces meant to be worn as one’s own, well, trademark. Spread across a light-flooded mezzanine, ground floor, and basement, the collections are replete with white waffle-knit V-neck sweaters ($428), vertical-striped tops ($148), and poplin pj’s ($246) and take cues from American minimalist art of the 1960s and ’70s: Sporty red T-shirts ($148) recall Tadaaki Kuwayama’s monochromatic canvases; a plaid shirtdress that falls just below the knee ($598) conjures Ellsworth Kelly’s oil-paint squares.
