Not satisfied with perfecting pies alone, Pizza 33 also offers meatball sandwiches, ($5.50), chicken rolls ($4.50), and meat stromboli ($4.50).

Better Burger
565 Third Ave., at 37th St.
212-949-7528

American, Health Food
An offshoot of Josie's restaurant, Better Burger has officially proven that fast food and health food need not be mutually exclusive terms. The beef, chicken, turkey, and even ostrich patties ($5-$6.50) are hormone and antibiotic free, while the french fries ($2.50) are baked instead of deep-fried so you won't have to worry about clogging your arteries. Made with soy yogurt, the strawberry-banana smoothie ($4) is expressly designed for someone with a low tolerance for lactose and a high tolerance for dessert.

Craving an authentic cheese steak? There's no need to hop on the train to Philadelphia because this homegrown mini-chain is the real deal. The standard cheese steak ($6)—which can be ordered with American, Provolone or cheez whiz—is unlikely to disappoint but the truly ambitious should consider The Works ($7.50), a cheese steak piled high with grilled onions, mushrooms, and three types of peppers: hot, sweet and green. A side of cheese fries ($2.75) should not be bypassed. You've already broken your diet.

Gemini doubles your pleasure by not just making outstanding breakfasts like blueberry pancakes ($5.90) and satisfying late night munchies like spicy buffalo wings ($5.55) but also bringing them directly to your doorstep. Suddenly, there's never an inappropriate time to have an insatiable craving for mozzarella sticks ($5.55).

Lemongrass Grill
138 E. 34th St., between Lexington Ave. and Fifth Ave.
212-213-3317

Of the seven Lemongrass Grills in the city, the Murray Hill location probably has the most loyal fan base because, within its price range, there's not much serious competition nearby. The vegetarian fresh roll ($4), with its paper-thin crepe, makes a pleasingly light starter while the pad khing , a stir-fried dish using tree ears, juliened ginger and oyster sauce finds its main entree competition in pad bai ba-prow a.k.a. as Sweet Basil. (Both are $8 for chicken, $9 for beef.) The cocoanut sticky rice with fresh mango ($4) has no true rivals when it comes to dessert.

Minimum: $10
Delivery area: 24th St. to 44th St., First Ave. to Eighth Ave.
Hours of delivery: noon - 10 p.m.

El Parador

An upscale Mexican restaurant with killer quesadillas, El Parador has mastered the basics (chiles rellenos, $16) and invented some delectable originals (baby back ribs steamed in banana leaves then slathered with a tequila barbecue sauce, $19). Every meal comes with a sweet potato on the side. But if you're looking to turn this into a fiesta, you'll have to make your own margaritas.

Minimum: $25
Delivery area: 30th St. to 38th St., FDR Dr. to Park Ave.
Hours of delivery: 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Sarge's Deli
548 Third Ave., between 36th St. & 37th St.

If a large, overstuffed sandwich sounds a bit overwhelming, consider the potato pancakes ($7.50) with applesauce or sour cream and the Nova Special ($17.95), two bagels with lox, cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion.
