The Den of Cin at Two Boots Video
44 Avenue A
212-254-3300
For some, watching Molly Ringwald steady her lipstick in her cleavage remains the cult-movie moment of all time. But for those willing to venture farther afield than John Hughes and Anthony Michael Hall, Two Boots’ downstairs Den of Cin serves up Mystery Science Theater–inspired campfests like Godzilla vs. Gigan and The Turkish Wizard of Oz in a cozy 40-seat lounge where it’s okay to drink beer and talk to the screen. Nearby Cinema Classics (332 East 11th Street; 212-677-6309) gets kudos for its CinemaScope and Billy Wilder festivals. But Two Boots takes the honors with its screenings of that celluloid equivalent of David Koresh—old Abba performances, satin and all.
