Reopening after a $12 million renovation, Symphony Space now has an extra theater. Supplementing the space's eighteenth annual "Selected Shorts" series (eleven themed readings of great short stories by equally great actors, $20), the Leonard Nimoy Thalia (yes, that Leonard Nimoy) will host yet another series, "Thalia Book Club" ($16), with unmissable appearances by Michael Chabon, André Aciman (on Proust), and Geraldine Brooks. But don't forget the strong-as-ever original — from the debut reading of "New York Stories" with Alec Baldwin on March 20 all the way through to the work of David Sedaris and Tim O'Brien on closing night. Or better yet, test your stamina by booking early for "Bloomsday on Broadway," the June 16 marathon reading of Ulysses ($17).
