  Liberty Towers
- Vaughn N. Thorp Fernandina Beach, Florida

This illustrates how the Manhattan Skyline could be revitalized while establishing a place of prominence for a tranquil Memorial area.

Images of the original towers embrace a half-mile spire topped by twin communication masts. Familiar neo-gothic arches are traced against 100’ wide mirrored surfaces facing East and West.

540’ above Church Street, overlooking a 3 acre Skypark, there is room for a private area of solitude. This 700’ wide area, bathed in morning sun, would include secluded courtyards on either side of a 1.5 acre Memorial Hall.

24 million square feet of interesting places are offered for others to shape and embellish in a variety of ways. Large flat roofs afford the opportunity to create parks, courtyards, and landscaped terraces while voluminous interior areas are available for convention halls, auditoriums, theaters and theme restaurants. Various architects would be free to fashion, within this structure, a warm environment with distinctive features.
