  The corner drugstore may have gone the way of the egg cream, but Bronx-bred pharmacist Stanley George has reintroduced the concept—albeit in a thoroughly modern way—with his pharmacy– cum–juice bar. A beach mural covers an entire wall, and Astrud Gilberto tunes thrum in the background while George chats up customers with holistic advice, harking back to a time before the reign of pharmacists who avoid eye contact. Pick up a standard prescription or bottle of Advil (all the merchandise is stocked behind the register), or let him suggest a more homespun remedy, whether it’s a healthy-hair regimen of L-cysteine, Inasitol, and keratin supplements, or a cocktail from the wellness bar like the rose-and-mint-infused Chillax ($3 per shot). Considering the neighborhood’s party-all-night crowd, the Stanley’s Pharmacy Hangover Tea ($4), with lapacho bark and hawthorn berries, is another popular choice.
